Mc Gee's performance at the plate last Tuesday in Shalloue included a solo home run in the first inning and a two-run single in the fifth. He also did the job in the field, striking out four Trojans and yielding just one hit after moving from short stop to relief pitchcr in the fourth Mike Hewctl picked up the win for the Scorpions, holding the Tro jans to three hits in four innings as North pulled into a temporary lie with West at 5-2 in the conlcrencc. McGce's homer to center field gave North Brunswick a 1-0 lead, but the Tiojans quickly erased it in the bottom half of the first. Wcsl Bninswick took advantage of three errors on infield ground balls and a wild pitch to score two runs without getting a hit. North tied the game at 2-2 in the second inning as Jeremy Child drew a walk and scored on Brian Hous and's double to right field. The Scorpions exploded for seven runs in me third inning to take a 9-2 lead and knock Wcsl Brunswick pitchcr Scott Gore out of the game. McGee led off the big inning with a double and later scored on an mi field throwing error. North Bruns wick added two more runs on a bases-loaded walk and sacrifice ll> and scoivd another pair on a wild pitch. Demetrius Bell capped the inning with a two-run home run to center field. It was North's third cxtta-basc hit of the inning and prompted West Brunswick Coach Mike Alderson to pull Gore in favor of reliever Adam Johnson. The Trojans got three of the runs back in the fourth inning. Johnson led off by beating out an infield sin gle and scored on Keane Bellamy's triple to left-center field. Bellamy scorcd on a wild pitch, and Gregg Mott walked and later scorcd on a North Brunswick throw ing error. North's McGcc was called on to pitch with the bases loaded and two out and got out of the jam thanks to a Trojan base-running mistake. The next inning, McGcc promptly knocked in his second and third runs of the game when Child and Hous and scored on his two-out single to center field. McGee then turned his thoughts to pitching and retired nine of 1 1 West Brunswick baiters over the last three innings.
