CHURCH BRIEFS St. James Episcopal Church Ground-Breaking Set May 20 The people of St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church in Shallotte will celebrate the start of construction of their new wors h ip/c lassroom/officc building with a ground- breaking service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 20. to which the public is invited. This building is a result of three years of planning by the parish, said the rector, the Rev. Richard W. Warner Jr. Upon completion it will include a worship space with seating for 1450 in the nave, two new class rooms and office space. The project is scheduled for completion by Easter 1993. May 23. from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Seaside United Methodist Church. The church is located on N.C. 179 one-quarter mile cast of the Ocean Isle Beach Causeway. Tom McCann, a Baptist minister from Martinsville, Va., is the pastor of the week at The Holden Beach Chapel.
