Rosa Stadick fired a gross /X and Ethel Brown shot net 61 to lead the first ilight Kunners-up in the low net division were Ann Causer with 62 and Lois Beato with 64. Stadick had low putts with 27. Top finishers in the second flight were Marion Johnson w ith gross 95 and Jane Fleig w ith net 66. Bobbyc Cordisco shot net 67 and Catherine Clcmmons shot 68. Elsie Rickbeil had low putts with 30. Besides her ace. Carter also had low gross in the third flight with a 99. Low net winners were Joan Cowie with 68, Pat Strauss with 72 and Lou Akers with 73. Cowie had low putts with 29. In the fourth flight, top scorers in cluded Evelyn Wuthrich with gross 104, Barbara Baxter with net 65, Jen Ward with net 67 and Louise Blizzard w ith net 70. Wuthrich had low putts with 30. During the round, Mary Ahearn chipped in for a birdie at the third hole. Other chip-ins were carded by Beato at the sixth. Marge Roach and Wuthrich at the 10th, Ward at the 15th and Sammie Nunn at the 18th. Causer made birdie putts at the sixth, ninth and 13th holes. Also making birdies were Stadick at the first and sixdi, Ethel Brown at the eighth, Mary Schaack at the 14th and Marie Brown at the 17th. Sea Trail Ladies Louisa Cilento shot net 33 to lead the first flight in the Sea Trail Ladies Golf Association tournament last Wednesday at the Byrd course. Golfers counted scores on the front nine only and used half of their handicaps. Runners-up in the top (light were Jean Krisher with 33.5, Carol Pauidge with 34.5 and Joan Llewellyn w ith 37. Knights Slate Golf Tourney The Brunswick County Knights of Columbus will sponsor a golf tournament Tuesday. June 2, at Sandpiper Bay Golf and Country Club near Calabash. The captain's choice event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Teams can register until the day of the tournament. The S35 entry fee covers green fees, cart, lunch and prizes donated by area mcrchanLs. Proceeds from the tournament will go to local char ities. On June 12, The Gauntlet will host the Century 21 Gordon Really Regional Golf Classic for Easter Seals, one of 25 being played this year in North and South Carolina. The format for the event is an 18-holc better ball of twosome. There will be a men's division and open division, for one man and one woman or two women. A 1:30 p.m. shotgun start is planned.
