DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Type ail outgoing correspondence concerning the
Food Stamp program: Mail Notice ot Expirations, change notices. FS identifica
tion cards, affidavits for replacements of FS, Stamp date and file daily printouts,
complete and mail the Post Office Reports, type appeals from tape by using the
dictaphone. Set up or create diskettes for information to be stored for usage
with the work processor. On occasions contact local Postmasters concerning
issuance of food stamps or reports of mail loss. Primary responsibilities and
duties include the processing of information received from the Certification Unit
by keying information into the FSIS terminal, assist Issuance Clerk in issuing
food stamps, on occasions get postage on envelopes, lock mail bags and carry
them to the post office. Send messages by the FSIS terminal to other counties
for the Income Maintenance Caseworkers, help emergency and disaster relief
and other duties as assigned.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate and 3
years of clerical experience with public contact. Preference given to additional
education, related work experience and computer experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Must become a permanent legal resident of
Brunswick County within six months from date of employment.
