Mailland and Gold DeUtuuJfellamy of II olden Beach have an nounced the engagement of their daughter, Regina Bellamy, to Darin Carroll, son of Roger and Tammy Carroll of Jacksonville. A 5 p.m. wedding is planned Saturday, Aug. 8, at Ijyng l^eaf Baptist Church in Wilmington. Invitations will be sent. Local Singer Entertains At South port Festival ? Musical entertainment in South port's Waterfront Park during Fourth of July festivities will have a Bruns wick Coun'y flavor. Varnam town's own Gaye Vamam Fulford, country -gospel singer and songwriter, will perform there Friday at 2:30 and 5:00 p.m. and Saturday at 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. Gaye calls country her first love, with Mary Chapin Carpenter, Holly FULFORD Dunn and Emmy Lou Harris her fa vorite recording artists, but she also sings folk and gospel. She loves the chance to perform her own songs, many of which have been inspired by her own life experi ences, family and friends. Her work includes, "River's Cry," "Nothing Like A Good Man," and a local fa vorite, "Lockwood Folly Fun." Accompanying herself on the acoustic guitar, Gaye has captivated audiences at festivals, fairs, gradua tions, banquets and other communi ty events. Official opening ceremonies wiii take place at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday (July 1) at Southport Baptist Church, but the real action begins Thursday morning with the kickoff of an all day beach day competition at Long Beach Cabana, arts and crafts in the park and a book sale in Old Catholic Church. Music, dancing in the strict, ex hibits, food of all kinds, children's entertainment, and, of course, the spectacular televised parade, arc all part of the festivity in store all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
