Receives Credential Elsie Jenkins of Lcland has bCcti r awarded a Child Development As sociate (CDA) credential in recog nition of outstanding work with young children. The credential was awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition in Wash ington, D.C., which represents the early childhood profession. CDA is a national effort to im prove child care by evaluating and recognizing the skills of people pro viding care. Two Complete Training Two Brunswick Countians have completed Army basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Wayncsville, Missouri. They arc Pvt. Beverly A. Brookshirc, daughter Johnny A. ^ Brookshirc of ? ? T Supply, and Pvt. 1st Class Chris topher E. Evans, j son of Bobby G. Jm B| and Joni S. Evans of BROOKSHIRE Southport. During the training, students re ceived instruction in drill and cere monies, weapons, map reading, tac tics, military courtesy, military jus tice, first aid and Army history and traditions. Brookshirc is a 1992 graduate of West Brunswick High School. Evans is a 1992 graduate of South Brunswick High School. Reports To Arizona Marine Staff Sgt. Marcus T. Morgan, son of Lamon H. and Christabclle B. Morgan of Supply, recently reported for duly with Marine Aircraft Group 13, 3rd Ma rine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma Arizona. Morgan joined the Marine Corps in August 1981. Lightfoot Decorated Technical Sgt Ronald E. Light foot, son of Mona C. Lightfoot of Long Beach, has been decorated with the Air Force Commendation Medal. The medal is awarded ?o those who BemuiKuaty"1 "wftsiafuiing achievement or meritorious service in the Air Force. Lightfoot is a signals intelligence analysis technician. He graduated from North Rowan High School in 1979 and earned an associate degree from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1988. Makes Master Sgt. Todd V. Franklin has been pro moted in the U.S. Air Force to the rank of master sergeant. Franklin, an aerospace control and warning systems technician, is the son of Thomas Va. Franklin Sr. of Supply and Constance J. Power of Salem, Oregon. Deployed In Kuwait Sgt. Garry J. Galloway, son of Annie L. and Joseph N. Galloway of Winnabow, has deployed to Camp Doha, Kuwait, to participate in a training exercise to demonstrate U.S. commitment to security and stability in the Persian Gulf region. Galloway is an armor crewmem bcr at Fort Hood, Kilccn, Texas. He is a 1985 graduate of South Brunswick High School. Ludlum Assigned The Holdcn Beach Police Department has assigned Dexter Ludlum as liai son officer be tween the de partment and LUDLUM Holdcn Beach Community Watch. Ludlum has been an auxiliary police officer with the department since February. Community Watch President George Bradshaw said the assign ment is another positive step taken by Police Chief Robert Cook.
