WEST WINS FOURTH STRAIGHT Streaking Lady Trojans Pound Visiting North Brunswick 57-13 BY DOIKJ RUTTER West Brunswick's Lady Trojans won their fourth consccutivc Wac camaw 2-A Conference basketball game Friday, scoring 31 unanswered points as part of a 57-13 blowout of visiting North Brunswick. "I thought we played real good in spurts," West Brunswick Coach Brenda Council said. "We missed a lot of layups, but overall 1 was pleased. We played pretty good de fense." Council said West Brunswick's sluggish play at times may have been due to the play of North Brunswick, which didn't score for nearly two full quarters Friday night. "At times we were just standing around," Council said. "I think North Brunswick just had a really off night They had a hard time scor ing. They couldn't get anything to go in." With the victory. West Brunswick improved its Waccamaw Confer ence record to 9-3 and overall mark to 11-9. North Brunswick's girls fell to 1-11 in league play and 2-14 overall. The contest was a case of a weak team having a horrendous shooting night. North Brunswick took a 6-5 lead with 4:15 remaining in the opening quarter but didn't score again until the 4:45 mark of the third period. West Brunswick, which started the week tied with Whitcvillc for second place in the conference standings, had a game Tuesday at East Bladen. The Lady Trojans host undefeated South Brunswick Friday. "It's going to be here so that should be to our advantage," Coun cil said of the South Brunswick game. "We'll need to play real good ball to beat them. I hope we can bust that bubble." With four straight wins and nine victories in their last 12 games, the Lady Trojans seem to be peaking at the right time. "I hope so," Council said. "1 hope that's what it is.
