WEST WINS FOURTH STRAIGHT
Streaking Lady Trojans Pound
Visiting North Brunswick 57-13
BY DOIKJ RUTTER
West Brunswick's Lady Trojans
won their fourth consccutivc Wac
camaw 2-A Conference basketball
game Friday, scoring 31 unanswered
points as part of a 57-13 blowout of
visiting North Brunswick.
"I thought we played real good in
spurts," West Brunswick Coach
Brenda Council said. "We missed a
lot of layups, but overall 1 was
pleased. We played pretty good de
fense."
Council said West Brunswick's
sluggish play at times may have
been due to the play of North
Brunswick, which didn't score for
nearly two full quarters Friday night.
"At times we were just standing
around," Council said. "I think
North Brunswick just had a really
off night They had a hard time scor
ing. They couldn't get anything to
go in."
With the victory. West Brunswick
improved its Waccamaw Confer
ence record to 9-3 and overall mark
to 11-9. North Brunswick's girls fell
to 1-11 in league play and 2-14
overall.
The contest was a case of a weak
team having a horrendous shooting
night. North Brunswick took a 6-5
lead with 4:15 remaining in the
opening quarter but didn't score
again until the 4:45 mark of the third
period.
