The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Edward Harkey of
Charlotte. The groom rs the son of
Rachel McCall of Shallotte and
Wayne Miller Sr. of Shallotte.
The bride was given in marriage
by her parents. Soloist was Kathy
Tipton of Charlotte.
Maid of honor was Ginger Camp
bell of Charlotte. Bridesmaids were
Suzanne Chadwick, Julia Pridgen.
Amy Hannor and Kathy Helms, all
of Charlotte.
Cheryle Bean of Charlotte attend
ed the guest register. Rebecca Bean
of Charlotte was the flower girl.
The groom's father served as best
man. Ushers were David Morse of
Ash, Tim Carter. James Evans and
Leonard Rourk. all of Shallotte.
The groom is a graduate of West
Brunswick High School and is em
ployed as manager of Miller Print
ing and Design of Shallotte.
The bride graduated from Inde
pendence High School in Charlotte
and UNC-Wilmington. She works in
the child protective services unit of
the Brunswick County Department
of Social Services.
A reception was held in . the
church fellowship hall. Following a
honeymoon in Charleston, S.C., the
couple will live in Shallotte.

double-ring ceremony.

Lusk-Watson.
Shakespearian Sonnet 110 was
read by Donna Mitchell of North
Myrtle Beach. S.C.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Jimmy Cufburt Register of
Shallotte. The groom is the son of
the Rev. and Mrs. William Lane
Chappell of Ash.
Given in marriage by her parents
and escorted by her father, the bride
wore a formal gown of white bridal
satin featuring a V-neckline and fit
ted bodice trimmed in Alencon lace
appliques embellished with sequins
and pearls.
The long, fitted sleeves were
adorned with beaded lace appliques.
The basque waistline was accented
in back with a double bow. The
floor-length skirt was highlighted in
front with a large lace medallion.
The full skirt edged in beaded lace
flowed into a cathedral train, trim
med in lace appliques.
The bride's veil was a beaded
Alencon cap edged with fingertip
length double-layer veil. She carried
a cascading bouquet of red roses
with wSiie newri beading and !r?.l!ing
English Ivy.
Sara Hardee of Calabash served
as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were
Elizabeth Gore of Shallottc. Felicia
Hoover of Shallotte. Melissa Pait of
Ocean Isle Beach, Nicole Penna of
Wilmington. Del., and Tonya Lee
Russ of Sunset Beach. Wendy Lee
of Norwood served as honorary
bridesmaid.
The attendants wore white, tea
length. full layered tulle skirts with
fitted black satin bodice, sabrina
neckline and mid-length puff
sleeves. The V-back bodice was
highlighted with a white satin drape
and bow. They carried long-stem red
roses.
The groom chose his father as
best man. Groomsmen were Mat
thew Chappell of Ash, Jay Dowell
of Greenville. Julius King of
Raleigh, Warren Lyles of Kinston
and Jon Proctor of Ocean Isle
Beach.
Brittany Lee of Wilmington,
cousin of the bride, served as flower
girl. Christopher Causey, cousin of
the groom, served xs ring bearer.
The wedding was directed by De
loris Evans of Ocean Isle Beach.
Lynn Nevell distributed programs
and attended the guest register.
Pre-nuptial festivities included
showers hosted by Linda Chappell;
Felicia Hoover and Sara HanJee;
Peggy Russ and Tonya Lee Russ;
and Boone Myrick and Donna Mit
chell.
On June 4, Elaine Bishop hosted a
Ceremony Set Oct. 9
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry D. Lewis of Shallotte have announced the en
gagement of their daughter, Melanie Ann, to John Roland Evans,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Evans of Hertford. An Oct. 9 wedding is
planned at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.
