19, at Elah Baptist Church in
Lcland. The Rev. Jack Miller offici
ated the double-ring ccrcmony. Mu

and Wendy Jones.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Charles B. Miller of Lc
land. The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Curtis Ormond of Aurora.
Escorted by her father, the bride
was attended by Tina Wallace of
Leland as matron of honor. Brides
maids were Wrenn Ogbum and Ro
bin Freeman of Greenville; Debi
Matthews of Rocky Mount; Karen
Prcvost of Alexandria, Va.; Bobbi
Throncburg of Badin; Monika Goss
of Raleigh; and Jennifer Ormond of
New Bern, sister of the groom.
Honorary bridesmaids were cous
ins of the bride, Jan and Karin Tam
akawa of Maui, Hawaii.
Curtis Ormond, father of the
groom, and Keith King of Grand
Rapids, Michigan, served as best
men. Groomsmen were Joshua Mil
ler and Corey Miller of Leland, brot
hers of the bride; Curtis Ormond Jr.
of Washington, N.C., and Robert
Ormond of Aurora, brothers of the
groom: Stacy Dover and John
Teague of Greenville.
The wedding was directed by Est
her Smith. Melissa Guyton attended
the guest register.
Following the ceremony, a recep
tion was held at the Coast Line Con
vention Center. On Friday evening,
a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the
groom's parents.
The bride is a graduate of East
Carolina University with bachelor
science and master of arts degrees in
English. The groom is also a gradu
ate of East Carolina University with
a bachelor of science degree in crim
inal justice. He is employed by the
Federal Bureau of Prisons in Burner.
After a honeymoon trip to the
Outer Banks, the couple arc residing
in Burner.

During June Calabash Volunteer
Emergency Medical Service an
swered 61 calls.
Eighteen of the calls were in Cal
abash, 14 in Sunset Beach and 29
elsewhere. Of the latter 13 were in
mutual aid to either ShaHotte or
Waccamaw units, said Maryn Hall,
secctary of the board of directors.
Members worked 152 manhours
and traveled 1 ,802 miles.
The EMS plans to otTer rccertifi
cation classes in August, with the
dates to be announced.

at Camp United Methodist Church
in Shallotte
The Rev. Elliott R Cooke Jr. of
Nanuet, N.Y., their son, officiated.
Also taking part in the service were
William Locke of Pawtuckct, R.I.,
and the Rev. George Speake, church
pastor.
Mrs. Hierman 's sister, Margaret
Shahecn of Kittcry, Maine, served as
her matron of honor.
The best man was Mr. Hicrman's
son, Steve Hierman of Harvard,
Mass.
All nine grandchildren took part
in the service, singing, "Love Never
Gives Up."
Their daughtcrs*Ethcl Locke and
Jill Sullivan, raid the Corinthians 13
text on love.
Relatives and friends attended the
reception held alterward.
