It's going to be an ongoing thing," said narcotics officer Mike Speck in de scribing the new stepped-up en forcement effort. "We've targeted areas where we've received specific complaints about drug activity. "We will continue to target those areas and others." Speck said. "But we will need public support. So if you have a problem with drugs in your neighborhood, call us and we'll look into it." The sheriff's department also rai ded a known drug area in Southport last week with assistance from the Southport Police Department.
