Former Student Gets 10 Days For Bringing Pistol To School A former student at West Bruns wick High School was sentenced to 10 days in jail and put on two years probation last week after admitting that he brought a .380-caliber pistol onto school grounds last November. Marc Anthony Dubosc, I4), of Ocean Highway. Shallotte, pleaded guilty in Brunswick County District Court Tuesday to one count of pos sessing a weapon on campus. Dubosc was a student at West Brunswick High School when he was arrested by sheriff's Deputy Sheldon Caison Nov. 29. School records indicate that Dubose with drew from the school the following day. In addition to his active jail term, Dubose was also sentenced to two years in prison, suspended on the condition that he pay $200 for his court-appointed lawyer and $60 in court costs. He was ordered not to go on the campus of any public schools in Brunswick County with out permission and to not violate any laws for two years. Judge Jerry Jolly further ordered that pistol be destroyed by the sher iff's department Jolly presided over three days of district court last week. Assistant District Attorney Rick Green prose cuted cases for the state, while Marie Jordan served as courtroom clerk. Other defendants who appeared in court last week, with their charges, pleas and judgments include: Elsie Barnhill Brown, shoplift ing/concealment of goods, voluntari ly dismissed. Delia Conner, possession of sto len goods. N.C. Department of Cor rections two years, suspended sen tence two years, supervised proba tion two years, costs, restitution jointly and severely ($675) with co defendant. 48 hours of community service within 30 days, testify truth fullv against any other co-defen dants. not vioiate any iaws for two years, abide by any curfew set by probation officer.
