p.m.
Bicyclists need sponsors who
commit to contributing a certain dol
lar amount per mile traveled.

All proceeds will benefit St. Jude
Children's Hospital in Memphis.
Tenn. The hospital is a unique insti
tution where researchers and physi
cians work sidc-by-side to battle cat
astrophic diseases that afflict chil
dren. St. Jude is non-sectarian, inter
racial and covers all costs of care for
patients beyond those reimbursed by
insurance.

Seeking Contestants

Festival Committee is seeking par
ticipants in the 1W4 Tiny. Little and
Junior Miss North Carolina Fourth
of July pageants.
Tiny Miss 4 and 5-year-olds will
compete in party dress and group in
terview.
Little Miss, ages 6-8. will com
pete in party dress, strcetwcar and
private interview.
Junior Miss, a new division this
year, will include girls 9 through 12.
who will compete in eveningwear,
talent and private interview.
The pageant will be held June 11
at Supply Elementary School.

will reign over the N.C. Fourth of
July festivities July 2-4.

Blue Crab Fest Set May 14-15
The Little River Chamber of
Commerce and the Blue Crab Fest
ival Committee will sponsor the
13th annual Blue Crab Festival May
14 and 15 on the waterfront in Little
River. S.C., just south of Calabash.
This year's festival will feature
more than 125 arts and crafts ex
hibitors and 25 food vendors. There
will be special children's area with
animals, puppets, clowns, magicians
and games, as well as the popular
"Space Walk" and daily activities
targeting children.
Continuous entertainment will in
elude bluegrass, jazz, gospel and
country hands.
Admission at the gate will be $3
for adults and $1 for children.
Discounted advance tickets will be
available at all Grand Strand area
Anchor Banks, Southern National
Bank in Little River and all Grand
Strand area chambers of commerce
until May 13.
Free parking and trolley shuttle
service will be offered at 15-minutc
intervals from Anchor Bank and
Southern National Bank.
The event takes place from 10
a.m. until 6 p.m. both days.
