OFFICERS INVESTIGATING Virginia Man Dies In Hit-And-Run Accident At Supply No charges had been filed as of Tuesday afternoon in connection with a hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a Virginia man last Friday in Supply. The accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on Mt. Pisgah Road about 4X miles north of Shallotte. accord ing to the N.C. Highway Patrol. The victim was identified as 27 year-old Kevin Watson, a resident of Norfolk, Va., who recently had been staying in Supply. Trooper D.A. l-ewis indicated in his report that he was called to the scene early Friday morning. Me found a body in the road and a bicycle nearby. There were no skid marks in the road and authorities have no description of the vehicle or driver, according to Ixwis' report. A separate report Filed by Dct. Charlie Miller of the Brunswick County Sheriff's Department indi cated that Miller and l^wis spoke to a Supply man about the incident. The man told the officers that he and his brother were driving home at 4:40 a.m. Friday when they saw a body in the middle of Mt. Pisgah Road. They stopped to examine the body. Hie man also told authorities that a vehicle pulling a trailer stopped at the scene. The man told the other driver that he was going home to call Mil, according to Miller's re port. Miller and Ixwis went to the man's house and found "what ap peared to be blood on the right front wheel area" of a vehicle in the yard. They removed the tire for evidence, according to the detective's report. Miller said an autopsy on Watson concluded that he died instantly af ter being hit by a car. The victim's skull was crushed and he suffered trauma to his left shoulder and lung. IRA'S FRATERNAL PROGRAMS Miller also said he spoke to a clerk at The Brunswick Hospital, who said a man pulling a U-Haul came in at 3:10 a.m. and advised of "two drunk males that appeared to have nm over a subject on a bicycle on Mt. Pisgah Road." The man gave the clerk the li cense tag number of the vehicle and left without giving his name, the re port said. Teen Charged On Sunday, a Longwood teenager was charged with exceeding safe speed following a one-vehicle acci dent on Ash-Little River Road. Christa Daniels, IK, was listed in fair condition Tuesday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where she was being treated for in juries suffered in the 6:30 a.m. wreck. Daniels was driving a I WW Pont iac north on Ash-Little River Road about 15 miles west of Ocean Isle Beach, according to a report filed by Trooper H.R. Smith. The officer reported that the car ran off the left side of the road, struck a ditch, went airborne and flipped two times before coming to rest in the ditch. Damage to the ve hicle was estimated at $4,500. Pedestrian Recovering A pedestrian was seriously in jured Friday night when he was struck by a vehicle on U.S. 17 near Wilmington. Edwin Nixon, 37, of Wilmington was listed in fair condition Tuesday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Nixon was standing in the one of the highway's southbound lanes at 8:45 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a 1W4 Pontiac driven by Keith Scott Hlack, 24. of Iceland. Trooper L.C. Dechent charged Black with driving while impaired. The Pontiac sustained approximate ly $X(M> in damage.
