On the second day of the trip,
goiters competed in a total net of
foursome event at Stono Ferry.
Evelyn and Vinnie Fitzgerald and
Anne and Kent Painter shot 265 to
take first place.
The team of Karen and Ed
Mugridge and I^ura and Ted Pali
woda shot 292 and finished second.
Finishing third with 298 was the
foursome of Jan and Bob Kilgore.

crossover tournament. Marion Cor
hin led the way with a score of 24.5.
She was followed by Ruth Brown
with 25.5 and Peg Stcincr with 27.5.
Ruth Brown had the overall low
gross of 99 and low net of 62.
Runners-up were Corbin with 105
and 64 and Evelyn Wuthrich with
106 and 67.
Making chip-ins were Wuthrich at
the first hole. Ann Trudeau at the
fifth and Dot Frey at the eighth.
Sea Trail Men
The team that included Bill Mil
ler, Tom Coniglio and Dale Stanton
shot 290 to take first place in the Sea
Trail Men's Golf Association tour
nament last Wednesday on the Ma
ples course.
Finishing two shots back in sec
ond place was the foursome of Herb
Gardner, Ray Dillon, Joe Masson
and Dick Billiar.
Three teams tied for third place.
They were Joe Levey, Bob Graham,
Keith Curry, John Stokes; Ron
Hayes, Joe Carpinello, Bill Jones;
and Ray Washam, Gene Bilz, Bob
Erbach, Charles Ferguson.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were
John Murphy at the third hole, Joe
Hasson at the fifth. Rick Redeker at
the 11th and Robert Delaney at the
17th.

Homeowners
John and Joanna Lang fired a net
55 to win the Brierwood Home
owners best ball of twosome event
last Saturday.
Jack and Ann Causer shot 57 and
tied for second place with Odie and
Marian Johnson.

a scramble last Wednesday at Whis
pering Woods Golf Course in Pine
hurst.
The foursome of Nancy Bradbury,

score of 81.
Mary Helen Leisey, Eileen Van
Audcberk, Gordon Bunt and Bob
Krivos took second with a round of
82.
Finishing third, also with 82, was
the team of Trudie Larsen, Ruth

Longest drive winners were Al

tournament last Thursday.

Two teams tied for second place
in the two best hall event. Ned Dye,
Gene Cordisco, Al Hierman and
Matt Monaghan shot 124 to tie Neal
McCall, Ted Narazinski, Jerry Smith
and a blind draw.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were
Jerry Wolff at the third hole and
McCall at the 14th.
Last Monday, the team of Bill
Allen, Bernie Gruzlewski and Jerry
Wolff shot 187 to win the three best
ball event at Brierwood. They used a
blind draw for the fourth score.

to tie for second place with Don

Brick Landing Women
Two teams tied for first place in
the Brick landing Women's Golf
Association shootout last Thursday.
Sue Houston and Pat Baumgarten
finished at plus 12 to tie the team of
Debbie Mason and Ginny Hohing.
Marie Barry and Pat Taylor
placed second at plus 11. Finishing
third at plus 9 was the twosome of
Loraine Babcock and Ruth Gardner.
Alice Grossman chipped in for
birdie at the first and third holes.
Mason also made birdie at the sec
ond hole.
Carding chip-ins were Martha
Cullen at the third, Vivian Rowc at
the fifth and Joan Behrle at the
ninth.

Kay Allwein shot net 28 to win
the Brierwood Ninettes tournament
last Friday.
Golfers did not count scores on
two "hate holes" selected before the
round. Runners-up were Dede Hav
enga with 29 and Alene Sterner with
30.
Helen Bangs had low putts with
13. Joyce Rose and Havenga tied for
second place with 15 putts each.
Harriet Schuler had a chip-in at
the sixth hole.
Sea Trail Ladies
Jackie Dent shot net 37 to lead the
first flight in the Sea Trail Ladies
Golf Association tournament last
Wednesday on the Maples course.
Golfers used half handicaps and
counted scores on par 4s only.
Runners-up in the top flight were
Louisa Cilento with 38 and Pat Reid
and Peg Cooper with scores of 41.
In the second flight, Birgit
Carpenter and Joan Worley tied for
first with rounds of 38. Ann Holman
placed second with net 40.
Jane Bye led the third flight with
a 38. Marge Stokes and Betty
Geesey tied for second with 39, and
Barb Pointer was third with 40.
Top finishers in the fourth flight
were Pat Burkart with 36, Marge
Gallop with 37 and Margie Munn

Betty Halloran had birdies at the

landing, Brierwood. Carolina
Shores, Echo Farms, Fox Squirrel,
Sea Trail and The Cape will partici
pate.
Golfers must have a handicap of
36 or higher to qualify. Women can
sign up at their home club.
