Habitat For Humanity Alliance One Step Away For Local GrouD SUSAN USHER Brunswick County Habitat For Humanity Inc. is just one step away from affiliation with Habitat for Humanity International. Chairperson Doreen Alloway of Shallotte said the local group will meet Tuesday, Aug. 30, with Southeastern Regional Director Gib Edson to discuss the status of the ap plication. "Our application is in and it looks good," she said. "I have all ideas we'll be affiliated Sept. 1. After that Aug. 30 meeting Edson will be able to tell us if he is going to recom mend us for affiliation." Once the local unit becomes an official affiliate, Brunswick County Habitat can begin interviewing prospective owners for its first home, and planning construction of that home.
