RIDERS RAG WHEN

WHEN IT'S NOT.
Just about any mower can bag
grass cuttings when it's dry but
there is only one rider which
operates efficiently during high
moisture conditions. That
mower is the SNAPPER Hi-Vac™
rider. It has "high vacuum”
power for vacuuming cuttings,
leaves and litter into an optional
6 bu. catcher or trailing 30 bu.
Bag-N-Wagon. With the rear
mounted catcher you can
maneuver in tight places, and,
without the cover, your Bag-N

cart for hauling tools, fertilizer,
firewood, etc.
SNAPPER mowers are
worth more because they do
more and their price is com

SSI Paid For Needy
Supplemental Security
Income (SSI) payments of
$202,567 were paid to some
4,468 needy aged, blind, and
disabled people in North
Carolina last fiscal year,
according to L. F. Howell,
social security district
manager in New Bern.
Some 4.2 million people are
now receiving SSI. In fiscal
*1960 payments totaled about
$7.5 billion, including $5.7
billion in federal funds and
$1.8 billion in state funds.
The SSI Program is a
federally-administered
program that provides a
basic cash income to people
in financial need who are 65
or older, blind, or disabled.
Currently, SSI provides up to
$238 for one person and $357
for an eligible couple in
monthly benefits. “Everyone
that qualified for SSI will not
receive that amount,” Mr.
Howell said. “Some may get
less because they have other
income, while some may get
more if they live in a state
that adds money to' the
federal payment.”
SSI is not the same as
Social Security, even though
the program is administered
