New Chevrolet Models
Display New Features
Chevrolet's prices for the 1935 New
Standard and Master De Luxe models
were announced by William E. Holler,
general sales manager of the Chev
rolet Motor Co., just before the open
ing of the New York automobile
show. The prices are as follows:
New Standard models Coupe,
$475; -coach, $485; sedan, $6504 phae
ton, $495; sport roadster, $465; sedan
delivery. $515.
Master De Luxe models Coupe,
$560; coach, $580; sedan, $640; sport
coupe, $600; town sedan, $615; sport
sedan, $675; commercial panel, $560;
de luxe panel, $580.
The prices on the New Standard
coupe, coach and phaeton are $10 un
der those of the corresponding 1934
models. On the Master De Luxe,
prices are exactly the same as in
1934.
Knee-action continues as one of the
outstanding features of the Master
De Luxe cars, Mr. Holler stated, and
is available to any customer on order
at slight additional cost. Master De
Luxe cars also feature the new Fisher
turret top all steel roof construction,
and a much larger body with corre
sponding increase in interior dimen
sions. "Chevrolet was able to reduce its
Standard model prices and to main
tain its price levels on the Master De
Luxe series in the face of substan
tially increased material and manu
facturing costs because of the great
ly increased volume scheduled for
1935, as indicated by the thousands of
orders we now have on hand for the
immediate delivery of the 1935 lines
of care from our organization of
10,000 dealers," Mr. Holler said in
announcing the prices. "Last year
Chevrolet built 870,000 passenger
cars and trucks, which made it the
leading manufacturer of motor cars
in the world for the sixth time in the
la3t eight years. With the estab
lishing of our 1935 prices, we are in a
position to secure our share of the
low-priced car business this year.
"Both lines of cars are greatly im
proved. The New Standard is now
powered with the Master motor, and
has an entirely new X-type frame
which is 15 times more rigid than its
predecessor. The Master De Luxe is
a completely new and much larger
car than the 1934 Master. The in
crease the comfort of passengers, and
procure more body room, the wheel
base has been increased to 113 inch
es. This line now features, in addi
tion to the new Fisher turret top all
steel roof construction, the latest in
Hear drop' design, with dual wind
shield, no-draft ventilation, and all
the comfort and convenience features
found in much higher priced cars."

Our Own Weekly Sewing Club
Your Sewing Machine
THERE Is little If anything 1 can say about the requirements or cai
abilities of your sewing machine that hasn't already been said and
written for rour benefit by highest authorities. Every manufacturer Is
sues iu Instruction book with each machine and stands ready to an
swer questions on Its operation and care. Every dealer places at the
disposal oi prospects and purchasers practical instruction by com
petent operators In all of the many uses.
Instruction books disappear. Asking questions by mall Is a nuisance.
Even Informal lessons take time. Auxiliary devices are laid away and
forgotten. On the principle that a reminder of some more or lest Im
portant Items can't hurt and may help I'll mention a few.
Use your instruction book. If you havent one, get one from the deal
er or manufacturer. They are usually available without charge. It will
tell you wnere oiling Is needed and how to regulate tension and make
other necessary adjustments. It will explain about the many methods
of using the machine and about any attachments by which additional
uses are made possible. There are attachments now for binding, hem
ming, ruffling, tucking, darning, hemstitching, buttonhole-making anu
perhaps other operations.
Keep your machine free of dust and lint and oil It at least every
eight or ten yours of use. Place It so daylight will fall on your work
from the left and handle your sewing aa Indicated In the sketch, with
a pair of small-pointed scissors always at hand.
Guide your fabric to the pressor foot. Don't try to pull It under the
foot. If two materials of different weights are being stitched together,
use paper underneath to prevent bunching of one on the other.
If; your machine uses bobbins wind them evenly and not too full.
Don't wiaa a new thread on a partly filled bobbin. A loose end of the
fir3t thread may cause trouble. Bobbins are so cheap It will certainly
pay you to have a number of them wound and ready with the (bread

BEFORE REACHING THE RIVER
Since moving near the river several years ago we've always used
BEST-YET. We watched the vicious water rats nibbling at BEST

the river to cool their burning stomachs, but died before reaching it.
Kills rats and mice only. Will not hurt cats, dogs or chickens, and
there is no smell from the dead rat. BEST-YET comes in two sizes,
