By "WMtie" i 'The Perquimans High School foot ball team suffered its second defeat, this time at the hands of Lewiston iron,, to the tune of 19 to 0. I The first score of the game came in the first quarter when ; Lewiston pulled a double reverse that put them in scoring position, and then trotted across the goal line for the first score. The try for the extra. nolnt west to Lewiston because of I interference with the receiver of a pass. There was no score in eitner the second or third quarter. ,,Ia,jHJiurtAperjod : Lewjston cqmr pleted'a pass for the 'second tally and then intercepted a nass on a sleeper from Harris intended for Dimmette that went over for the third touch down. . The Indians missed the services of Morris, the captain, and Barclift, in Friday's game. Morris, who does the punting, was replaced at the kicking position by Stokes, who plays tackle. Beverly Blanchard, a newcomer to the local squad, who had only had a week's practice, played a bang up game against Lewiston, both offen sive and defensive. More players like this and, Boy! what a team it would be! Nice work, Beverly, keep it up. The Perauimans team has a return game with Lewiston, on Friday of this week, at Lewiston. lius win he the second came that the Indians will have played against the Lewis- ton eleven. The team wishes to avenge their defeat suffered on Friday. The next game the P. C. H. S. team plays is with Oceana next Friday, at Oceana, Va. The team would like to take this game with Oceana, as Oceana defeat ed Woodrow Wilson High 6 to 0. Jesse Lee Harris, quarterback, will not be playing Friday. It is possible that Nixon will move into the quar terback position left vacant by Har ris. This is Nixon's first year as a regular, and he is doing good work in the back field. In the game with Oceana Friday the lineup will probably be as fol lows r Brinn and Eure at ends; Mor ris and Stokes at tackles: Winslow and White at guard, and Tuckei- holding down the center position. In the back field Nixon, tsiancharfl. Campen and Jessup will probably be the starters. Barclift may be start ing Friday if his ankle is okeh. In this column last week the score tit' ; it Vh h& y. ...... - . , v ; -,. , ., ; . ... f; m w ? ,: 'twas said to have been 87 to .Or Thia was an error. : The score vras 27 to 0, A ;1 The Indians hav received Some real scrimmaguig ' this " past week. They have been nlaying practice games with the locals. This should prove beneficial to the team when they buck up against Oceana. JIhe P,, C. H..S. girls are practic ing every day now for their coming basketball season. It looks as if the girls are determined to turn out another team as good as last year's. All the girls are very sure that the school will be proud of them. Nancy Woods coached the team last Tear and is back at the coaching position this year. She is sure that she will have a winning team. Who. Is. your choice for. next month's grid clash, the Duke Blue Deviir or the Carolina Tar Heels? It should be a swell game.
