Surprise Party Held In Honor Ray Jordan Ray Jordan was given a delightful surprise party;: on Tuesday evening at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A, F. Jordan, on Church Street, the occasion being his fifteenth birth day. The guests had all assembled upon Ray's return home at eight o'clock and as . he : entered the 'house the young people j : greeted him with .shouts.f i, "happy birthday," The house had been gaily decorated with lovely flowers, and attractive pack ages containing gifts : were piled high on the living room table. ; K In the center of the dining table. flanked by a tasteful arrangement of flowers, was a huge; birthday cake on which 15 lighted candl.es gleamed. r The young people 'iplayed games and had a very merry evening, at the close, of which the birthday cake was cut and served with delicious ice cream; The guests included Mrs. Mercer Wmslow and her two sons, Floyd and Clarence, of Belvidere; Julia Broughton, Mary Thad Chappell, Mary Morris, Margaret Mayes, Lila Budd Stephens, Polly Tucker, Ellie Mae White, Blanche Moore Berry, Alice Roberson, Zack Toms White, Zack Harris, David Broughton, Fred Campen, Charles Harrell, and Cleve land Buck, Mrs. W. E. White, and "Whitie" White. Among the gifts from those who were not present at the party were those of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Chappell, Mrs. T. S. White and Mrs. W. M. Morgan. ' PINE Y WOODS Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Chappell vis ited Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Chappell Sunday afternoon. Mrs. F. C. White-and Mrs. E. L. Chappell, of Belvidere, visited Mrs. Purvis Chappell Wednesday. , Mrs. J. 0. Chappell and Mrs. C. J. Raper visited Mrs. Hubert Chappell on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Fernando Chappell, Mrs. W. H. Lamb and son, Roy, vis ited Mr. and Mrs. George Chappell Sunday. Miss Alice Chappell and Mrs- Geo Hunter visited at the home of W. P. Chappell Wednesday. Harvey Chappell is able to sit up after a severe attack of pneumonia Miss Kathryn Lamb spent the week-end with Miss Agnes Ward. Those who visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Chappell on Sun day were: Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Hollowell and son, of Elizabeth City. E. T. Chappell, of Newport News, Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Raper, Misses Agnes .Ward, Kathryn Lamb, Margaret, Mary Lina, and Nona Marie Raper, and Luther Chappell. a cedar on a . ditch, corner , on P. F. Containing 58 acres, more or less, and being that 58 acres remaining of the 70 acre tract, of land conveyed to Geo. W. Sutton by deed from P. L.
