Miss Leah Nachman, who has com pleted a secretarial course at Mas soy's' Business College, Richmond, Va., has returned home. Alvin White has returned from the University of North Carolina, where he has been attending summer flShpfil, , ! William Dimmette will attend the Spartanburg Textile School at Spar tanburg, S. C, this -fall. Miss Dorcas Knowles will return to 'Greensboro College for Women this fall. ' Miss Lena Barber will return next week to Wilmington, where she is a member of the city schools faculty, after a visit to her sisters, Mrs. T. 4. Nixon, Sr., Mrs. R. L. Knowles, and Mrs. R. A. White, in Perqui mans. Mies Joyce Stokes will teach at Kenly this year. Miss Stokes was graduated from Greensboro College for Women last spring. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Winslow and their children, Katherine and Hillary, have returned from a visit at Black Mountain. Miss Virginia Tucker, who holds a position at Hampton, Va., spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. Nathan Tucker. F. C. Winslow is spending his va cation at Nags Head. Miss Aline Vick, of Loiusburg, is the guest of her cousin, Miss Helen Vick. Mr. and Mrs. John Lewis Perry, of Windsor, made a brief visit to Mrs. Perry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R, M. Riddick, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Dean, of Eli sabeth City, were week-end guests of Mrs. J. G. Campbell, at the Hotel Hertford. Mrs. Joe Horton, of Farmville, was a recent visitor of her sister, Mrs. Tim Brinn. Among the Hertford people who have been staying at Nags Head, and who have returned home are the families of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Sum ter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whedbee, fchd Mr. and Mrs. T. S. White. Mr. T. C. Blanchard and her daughter, Miss Kate Blanchard, are visiting Mrs. J. Y. Yarborough, at Louisburg. Miss Gladys Hamrick will spend the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Rich, at Gatesville. 1 Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Broughton, who spent the winter and spring in Nor folk, Va., and who. have been at Vir ginia Beach for some time this sum mer, are at home for the fall. Henry Nachman, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. James Harwood and Miss Etta Whitehead, of Richmond, Va., was a week-end guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nach man. Mrs. C. W. Bead has returned from a visit to her mother, Mrs. H. A. Litchfield, at Creswell. Midshipman T. J. Nixon, III, of Annapolis, Mdd., is spending his va cation with his mother, Mrs. T. J. Nixon, Jr., and has as a guest a classmate, Paul Riley, of Hot Springs, Ark. J. S. Vick left Tuesday to spend two weeks in New York City, where he will visit his son, Murray Vick, and his daughter; Mrs. T. H. Keidanz. Mr. and Mrs, W. G. Wright spent the week at Nags Head. The house was attractively deco rated with ferns and cut flowers, and five tables were arranged for bridge. At the conclusion of several rub bers the bride was presented with many lovely gifts. Mrs. Hudson Butler was the win ner of the prize for top score, and Mrs. Julian White received the low score prize. Mrs. Feuds was pre sented with a guest's prize. An ice course was served.
