BIBLE THOUGHT FOR WEEK GOD NEVER STOPS LOVING: Yes, I have loved thee with an ever lasting love; therefore with lovinir kindness have I drawn thee. Jere miah 31:3. BE AT COURT HOUSE FRIDAY NIGHT Every public-spirited man, in Hertford should be at the courthouse on Friday nurht. There will be pre sented a report from the committee appointed to make plans for an or ganization which will have for its objective the welfare and the up building of the community. We who have talked about the lack of public spiritedness on the part of our citizens; we who have criticized those who have seemed to us to be considering only themselves and their own interests; we who say Hertford is not progressive, should stop now and take that beam -out of our eyes, and we might then see that we could do something ourselves. A movement has been started. It may not amount to anything. It certainly will not amount to anything unless there are enough of us with a real community spirit to do a little cooperating right now when there has been some interest aroused and a few of our citizens are inclined to giv the upbuilding of our community , on' consideration. "'' .v.,,Jost of us who have been criti cizing this and that have had no real idea what could be done to remedy conditions; few have been able to suggest a plan. A constructive plan for an organi zation with a definite aim, and one which has real possibilities for the future, "will be presented on Friday night. THE TIME WILL COME Lower tower rates for the users' of two major electrical appliances are announced by the Town of Hert ford, These special rates are tend ing to make us electrically minded. Here and there householders are be ginning to install more electrical equipment! It is a good thing, and we are all looking forward to the time when such a volume of current will be sold to those who are taking advantage of the convenience of electrical appli ances in the home that it will be pos sible to reduce the rate on current for lighting purposes. 'Norfcffi, FordMotdhkip, Launched ft WHERE ARE THE SOFT BALL PLAYERS? What about the soft ball games? The city father shave arranged to light the lot where it had been sug gested the game might be played. Whether or not the potential soft ball players of Hertford have suf ficient energy during this weather to start the ball rolling hasn't been proven, but the Town has done its part. Woodville W. M. S.
