Miss Mavis Winslow, of Belvidere, " is spending the week with her cousin, Miss Clarissa Winslow. Mr. ad Mrs. B. L. White and chil dren. Leslie and Margaret Anne, of Sunbury; Mr. and Mrs. B. J. White and sons, Otis and Lanier, of Eliza beth City, visited Mr. Mary J. White and family Sunday. Miss Burnette Winslow returned te Hertford Sunday, after spending the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Winslow. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Snyder, of Winston-Salem, dined with Miss Pearl White Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Winslow and son, Jarvis, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Wins low, Mr. and Mrs. Mercer Winslow and sons, Clarence and Floyd, at tended the Winslow family reunion at Davis Bay Thursday. Miss Adalia Winslow, of Hertford, is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Winslow. Miss Pearl White, Mr. and Mis. Roy Snyder left Sunday to spend a few days at Nags Head and Manteo. I Mr. and Mrs. John Lassiter had as guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Irvin White and family, of Hertford; Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. White and family, of Elizabeth City. The Up River Friends Church held its Christian Endeavor picnic Friday afternoon at Hollys Wharf. PENDER ROAD NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Elliott and three children, of Wilmington, are spending the week with Mr. Elliott's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Elliott. Mr. and Mrs. Sammie Sutton and son, Sammie, visited Mrs. Mary Wood Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. T. S. White called to see Mr. and Mrs. Louis Proctor Sun day afternoon. Nina Lane, of Elizabeth City, Frances Lane Bassinger, of Ply mouth, and Francetta White, of Manteo, are visiting their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Ed Lane. Mr. and Mrs. George F. Dail, of the Edenton Highway, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Stallings. Mrand Mrs. John B. Eaves and two children, John and Ava Ann, from near Norfolk, Va., were Sun day guests of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Eaves. Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Eaves, Jr., from near Nor folk, Va., is visiting his grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Eaves. Alonza Riddick, of the White Hat community, spent the week-end with Willie Preston Elliott Mrs. B. M. Jones is spending the week-end with her father and step mother, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Eaves. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Morgan, of the Cumberland community, called to see Mr. and Mrs. Louis Eaves Sun day evening. Misses Blanche Davenport and Rosa Lassiter called on Mrs. R. A. Perry Sunday afternoon. BETHEL Y. W. A. MEETS The Y. W. A. Society of Bethel Baptist Church met Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Goodwin, near Bethel, with Miss Blanche Goodwin and Miss Margaret Standin as hostesses. ; The meeting opened with a hymn, and the devotional was given by Mrs. W. P. Long. A business session was held at which time the Society decid ed to have a picnic Wednesday after noon at Road Landing. A short program was given in which Misses Eunice Long, Margaret Standin and Blanche Goodwin took part. The hostesses, assisted by their mothers, Berved delicious ice cream and cakes. The August meeting will he held with Miss Frances Fleetwood.
