Funeral Sunday For
Walter S. Chappell
Funeral services for Walter S.
Chappell, age 70, were conducted at
Oak Grove Methodist Church Sunday
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the
Rev. W. G. Lowe, of Winfall, officiat
ing and burial took place in the fam
ily burying: ground near Belvidere.
A quartet composed of Mrs. Roy
Pierce, Miss Lillian Bright, C. P.
Quincy and O. L. Bundy sang three
selections "The Beautiful Garden of
Prayer," "Rock of Ages" and "Near
er My God to Thee."
Mr. Chappell, whose death occurred
on Friday, is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Maggie Godfrey Chappell, four!
daughters, Mrs. James A,
Hertford; Mrs. Franklin Smith, of
Portsmouth, Va.j Misses Mabel and
Audrey Chappell, of Chapanoke, and
one brother, Tipp Chappell, of Ar
kansas. There were many beautiful floral
tributes.
