Club Meets With Mrs. W.O. Hunter TWO APPOINTMENTS The Helen Gaither Home Demon stration Club met at the home of Mrs. W. 0. Hunter on April 21, with the president, Mrs. T. E. Madre, pre siding. After the Club Collect, Mrs. C. L. Dail read a poem, "Dreaming." Miss Hamrick, home agent, gave. a most interesting talk on "Flower Ar rangement," with Mrs. C. P. Morris, Mm. C. L. Dail and Mrs. W. 0. Hunter contributing' lovely lilies of the valley and the red and pink roses for a demonstration in the artistic arrangement of each. Those having a part on the pro gram were:' Mrs. Warner Madre, who discussed the formal and informal tea; Mrs. Lucy Hunter Perry, read poem, "Spring Fashions"; and Miss Pattie Rogerson gave a brief sum mary of the "Fashions for Spring." During the recreation period every one enjoyed an egg hunt, which was followed by some girlhood games as "Steal Sticks" and "Pretty Girls Sta tions." Everyone seemed to have the most fun! Mrs. W. O. F. Seawell, the Attorney Gen eral who in that office and as Assist ant Attorney General has been iden tified with the functioning of the court for seven years. As Attorney General he has named Harry Mc Mullan, the Assistant Attorney Gen eral, who has been identified with the State Government for five years. Mr. Seawell, at 73, is recognized as one of North Carolina's hardest workers and most careful legal minds. In him there's dignity and personal worth, and a keen aptitude for the legal problem. With him, Mr. McMullan has shared some taxing interpretative burdens. In the joint selection Governor Hoey gives the State an assurance of continuity wholesome for the con tinuing confidence of the people in the Court and the State's legal es tablishment. But they got to talk ing. They soon discovered that he was a plumber . . . plus. It came out that he has a complete workshop in has basement at home, fitted out with ' Nl W, and nuts to the following members Mrs. T. E. Madre, Mrs. C. L. Dail, Mrs. C. P. Morris, Mrs. Lucy Hunter Perry, Mrs. E. Y. Berry, Mrs. Harold Thach, Mrs. John Lane, Mrs. Warner Madre, Miss Gladys Hamrick, and Miss Pattie Rogerson. HOSTESS TO BRIDGE CLUB Mrs. D. F. Reed was hostess to the members of her bridge club on Tues day night at her home in Hertford. The living room, where the tables were arranged, was decorated with spring flowers. The prize top score was won by Mrs. Herman Winslow. Those playing included Mrs. V. N. Darden, Mrs. J. G. Roberson, Mrs. Herman Winslow, Miss Elizabeth Knowles, Mrs. Oscar Felton, Mrs. William Tucker, Miss Kate Blanchard and the hostess. BELVIDERE CLUB MEETS The Belvidere Home Demonstration Club held its regular monthly meet ing Wednesday at the home of Mrs. S. M. Winslow, with Mrs. L. C. Winslow and Mrs. N. Q. Ward as joint hostesses. The meeting was opened by singing "America the Beautiful," after which the Collect was repeated. Two bouquets brought to the meeting by the house furnish ing and home management leaders! were discussed. A demonstration on "Afternoon Tea" was given by Mrs, Chappell. The clothing lead Branch's mother, Mrs, P. L. Griffin. Ardell Byrum, who is stationed in the CCC camp at Manteo, is visiting his mother, Mrs. Eva Byrum. Tim Trueblood visited friends in Norfolk, Va.', on' Sunday, Mr. and Mra. J. C Wilson and children, Calvin and Curtis, visited Mrs. Z. W. Evans, in. Chowan County, Sunday afternoon. '. Mrs. C P. Quincy returned Thurs day from Greenville, where she at tended the Woman's. Missionary Con ference of the Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. George Alexander were in Elizabeth Gty on Saturday. Miss Louise Wilson, of the Durante Neck school faculty, and Miss Dona White, of Winfall, were jruests of Mrs. J. C. Wilson on Sunday after noon. Mrs. John Symons has returned from Winston-Salem, where she at tended the P. T. A. conference. Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Quincy and son, Carey, were business visitors in Elizabeth City on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. C.. Wilson were in Elizabeth City Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stokes, of Hertford, visited Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Quincy Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Williford Jones and Mrs. Billie Saunders Smith, of Elizabeth City, were guests of Mrs. C. L. Jackson on Monday afternoon. The average adult has about 100, 000 hairs in the scalp. County.
