ENTERTAIN CLUB
The Snow Hill-White Hat Home
Demonstration Club met Friday after
noon at the home of Mrs. Elmer
Wood with Mrs. Ralph Harrell as as
sistant hostess. Mrs. Ashby Jordan,
president, Was in charge of the busi
ness session, after which the meeting
was turned over to Mrs. Edward
Benton. Mrs. Benton had prepared a
very interesting program which con
sisted of a reading by Mrs. Elmer
Wood, a poem, "Choices," was given
by Mrs. Vernon Winslow. Mss Elea
nor Jordan read a poem, "A Boy and
a Pike." A contest, "Cake Sale"
caused much merriment.
Miss 'Gladys Hamrick, home agent,
gave a demonstration on cutting- and
fitting a pattern, a dress being cut
for Mrs. Earl Russell to make the
demonstration plainer.
The hostesses served ice cold Kool
Aid and vanilla wafers. ..

MISS JACKSON BADLY BURNED
Miss Gertrude Jackson, of Ryland,
was painfully scalded Friday about
noon on her right arm. She had tak
en a large pot containing a boiled
dinner from the stove and was pre
paring to take the dinner np when,
in some unaccountable manner, the
pot turned over spilling4 a large
quantity of the liquid ott Miss Jack
son's right arm, which1; was badly
burned from thajngrt io the elbow.
