HOSTESS AT BRIDGE SUPPER Mrs. Tommy Jessup charmingly entertained a number of her friends at a bridge supper last Wednesday evening. Those present were Mes dames Charles E. Johnson, Charles Williford, H. C. .Stokes, Bud Pollard, and Theron Johnson, of Smithfield, and Misses Blanche Everett and Hel en Morgan. Mrs. Johnson was high score prize winner, while prize for low score went to Mrs. Stokes. Y. B. W. CIRCLE MEETS The Young Business Women's Cir cle of the Hertford Baptist Church met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. J. S. Bass, Jr. Mrs. James Whitley was in charge of the pro gram. After the program and a business session, the hostess served delicious refreshments. 'About 20 members were present. The June meeting will be held with Mrs. Carlton Perry. All members are urged to be present. MARY TOWE SOCIETY' MEETS The Mary Towe Society of the Methodist Church met Monday even ing at the home of Mrs. Martin Towe,. with Mrs. Towe and Mrs. Marshall Owens as hostesses. Riddick -delightfully entertained members of her bridge club on Tuesday evening at her home on Dobbs Street. Those playing were: Mesdames Oscar Felton, J. G. Roberson, Charles Johnson, Olivia Hobbs, T. B. Sumner, B. G. Koonce, Durwood Reed, and Miss Kate M Blanchard. Each member of the club received a prize, while Mrs. Roberson received high score prize. The hostess served a delicious salad course. PINEY WOODS W. M. S. MEETS The Missionary Society of Piney Woods Friends Church met Saturday afternoon in the home of Mrs. J. M. Copeland, with Mrs. Sarah Layden as joint hostess. The meeting was opened by singing "Revive Us Again", after which the devotional was conducted by Rev. J. C. Trivette from Mark 3:31-35; John 3:16. A1 roll call' the members answered by naming and locating a missionary. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The lead er, Mrs. L. J. Winslow, presented the lesson in the form of a Round Table discussion, the topic being "Women in Industry." Women in Japan, was given by Miss Lucy White; Women in India, by Mrs. L. L. Winslow; Women in China, by Mrs. Mabel Harward, and Women in England by Mrs. F. C. White. Social Welfare Project in Korea was given by Mrs. L. J. Winslow, and Christian Social Service in Africa, by Mrs. H. P. White. An interesting talk on Industrial and Economic Conditions in .Several Communities was given by Rev. J. C. Trivette. After the lesson a True and False Test was presented with Mrs. Callie Copeland and Mrs. H. P. White being the prize winners. The meeting closed with the Doxology.
