Harris and family spent Sunday at Nags Head. Attend Game Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Sumner and son, Tommy, and Mrs. B. G. Koonce attended a baseball game at Black stone, Va., last Saturday. The Blackstone team is managed by Bill Jessup, and has been making a fine showing in the league. To date Jessup's team has won 6 out of 7 games played. Y. B. W. CIRCLE MEETS The Young Business Woman's J Circle of the Baptist Church met at the Home of Mrs. Carlton Perry last Monday evening. Mrs. J. S. Bass, Jr., was in charge of the program with Mrs. Charlie Vann, Mrs. B. L. Gibbs, Mrs. L. W. Norman and Miss Dora White assisting. After the business meeting a social hour was enjoyed with dainty re freshments being served to the twenty members present. S. S. CLASS MEETS The Judson Memorial Sunday School Class of the Baptist Church met at the church Tuesday evening with Mrs. Charles Johnson as host ess. Mrs. J. S. Bass, Jr.,' was in charge of an interesting program, being assisted by Mrs. Steve Sharp and Mrs. Johnson. About fifteen members were present. After the business session a social hour was enjoyed with the hostess serving de licious refreshments. W. C. T. U. TO MEET TUESDAY The Woman's Christian Temper ance Union will meet Tuesday after noon, June 18th, in the Ladies Parlor of the Methodist Church. All mem bers are urged to attend. MINNIE WILSON SOCIETY TO MEET MONDAY P. M. The Minnie Wilson Missionary So ciety of the Methodist Church will meet Monday evening, June 17, at 8 o'clock, at the home of Mrs. J. C. Blanchard. All members are urged to attend. BRIDGE SHOWER Miss Ruth Alice Ward and Miss Blanche Everett were joint hostesses at a delightful bridge shower Friday at the home of Miss Ward compli menting Mrs. H. C. Sullivan, a re cent bride. Those playing were Mesdames J. G. Campbell, Charles Williford, Corbiri Dozier, Willis Jes sup, Agnes Williams and Mrs. Sulli van, honoree, Misses Mary Towe, Helene Nixon, Jocelyn Whedbee, Frances Fowler, Mary Elizabeth Fields, Dorcas Knowles, Mary Onella Relfe, Jessie Taylor Newby and the hostesses. High score prize was won by Miss Newby and Miss Relfe re ceived, prize for low score. At the conclusion of play the honoree was presented with a nice assortment of gifts and a delicious salad course was served.
