SOCIETY MEETS- The Young People's- Mjtadonar So ciety of Up River Friends Church held its' regular monthly nWettiiy'On- the evening of November 15, at the home of 'Mrs. Roy Winslow. "Count Your Many Blessings" was sung as the opening hymn and Jasper Wins low led the devotional. Lucilfle Lane gave an interesting talk on "Move On, Youth." Sixteen members were present, each one answering the roll call with a Thanksgiving thought. . During the social hour names were drawn for Christmas ' and all enjoyed games. The hostess served delicious freshments. re- Visiting Parents Tim Rufus Brinn, of New York, arrived Friday to visit with 'his par ents, Mr and Mrs. R. T. Brinn, for a week. HOSTESS AT BRIDGE PARTY Mrs. Carlton Perry entertained at bridge at her home on Saturday evening. Invited guests- included Mesdames Charles Johnson, Olivia Hobbs, J. W. Zachary, E. S. Pierce, Crafton Matthews, Fred Chalk and Hudson Butler, and Miss Mary Eli zabeth Fields. High score prize was won by Miss Fields, Mrs. Hobbs re ceived low, and the floating prize went to Mrs. Johnson. The hostess served a dainty salad course. Returns Home Mrs. Weeks has returned to her home in Elizabeth City, after a few days' visit with Mrs. Jesse Perry. . Monday In Durham ' Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Relfe spent w monuay in relatives. Encyclopedia Added To Library Here The Hertford Library Board an nounced today that an Encyclopedia Britannica has been added to the volumes collected at the local li brary, and is now on hand for the use of interested parties. The ency clopedia canxnot be removed from the library. The board also announced that it had replaced all of the books at the' New Hope branch with 100 new books, and that 60 books had been sent to the Belvidere branch for cir culation in that community.
