Edgar H. Bain of Goldsboro, State director in charge of the beer indus try' "dean up or close up" cam paign in North Carolina, said the March revocations increased the total to 164 126 by revocation, 26 by re fusal of local authorities to relicense on information furnished by the com mittee, and two by surrender. In addition, eleven dealers have been placed on probation, and 231 dealers have been warned to 'c'lean up" or face revocation proceedings. During the month of March, the committee cooperated with local au thorities in the revocation of six re tail licenses in Graham, Ashe, Chero kee and Edgecombe Counties. Revo cation petitions were filed against four dealers in Transylvania, Swain and Onslow counties. Letters of warning were sent to 18 dealers in Cumberland, Onslow, Brunswick, and Lenior counties. The field inspector investigated 103 outlets in 21 counties, bringing the total of investigations to 1,686 since the "clean up or close up" campaign was begun in North Carolina almost 23 months ago. The president Mrs. George Jackson, called the meeting to order and Mrs. Fletcher Bundy had charge of the devotional. The hymn, "A Charge To Keep," was sung. Read ings were given by Mrs. C. P. Quincy and Mrs. Emmett Stalling The Spiritual Life Service was pre sented by Mrs. W. W. Lewis. Short readings were given by Mrs. George Jackson, Miss Grace Ferrell and Miss Pauline Bundy. Miss Doris Lewis read a poem. The roll was called and the min utes of the Jast meeting were read and approved.
