Laughinghouse and H. C. Sullivan. High score prize was awarded to Mrs. Felton, and Mrs. Riddick re ceived low score prize. The hostess served a dainty sand wich course. HOSTESS TO BRIDGE CLUB Miss Helen Morgan delightfully entertained her bridge club Tuesday evening at a bridge supper. Those playing were Mesdames Charles E. Johnson, H. C. Stokes, Tommy Jes sup, George Barbett, W. G. Wright, C. R. Holmes, Miss Mary Sumner and Miss Alma Leggett. High score prize went to Mrs. Wright, low to Miss Sumner, and Mrs. Jessup received the floating prize. ROOK CLUB MEETS Mrs. D. F. Reed was hostess to members of her rook club on Friday evening at her home on Dobb Street. Those present were Mes dames J. H. Towe, Jr., Edgar Morris, Ed Harrell, C. T. Skinner, Julian White, G. R. Tucker, H. C. Stokes, Cecil Winslow, Carlton Cannon, Ar chie Lane and Oscar Felton, and Miss Mary Bumner. The high score prize and floating prize were won by Mrs. Felton, and Mrs. Towe received low score award. A delicious salad course was served by the hostess. CIRCLE NO. FOUR TO MEET Circle Number Four of the Wom an's Missionary Society of the Bap tist Church will meet Monday even ing, April 7, at 7:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Tom Perry. All mem bers are urged to be present. CELEBRATES 81st BIRTHDAY Mrs. Anna Chappell celebrated her 81st birthday Sunday, March 30, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mamie Forbes. Her children, grand children and great-grandchildren were present, also a few of hei friends. She received two birthday cakes, one from her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Chap pell, of Norfolk, Va., and the other from a grandson and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Forbes, also of Nor folk, Va. Mrs. Chappell received many useful gifts. ACCEPTS POSITION Miss Hilda Knowies has accepted a position at Fort Bragg under civil service authority. She began her new duties April 1st. MUSIC CLUB ENTERTAINED Misses Harriet Lou Layden, Al leene Yeatea and Dorothy Faye White were hostesses on Wednesday evening to the senior division of the Chaminade Music Club. In the ab sence of the president, Dorothy Faye White presided, Six new members were enrolled.' .' After s business session, the fol lowing members took part in a mus- ical program: Barbara Gaul't, Doris Byrum, Peggy Felton, Ruth Tucker, Harriet Lou Layden, Anne Mathews, Minnie Raye Dail, Barbara Wins low, Dorothy Faye White, and Mrs. R. M. Riddick, counselor. After an hour of games, delicious refreshments were served.
