A flower show and tea, sponsored
by the Woman's Auxiliary, was held
last Thursday afternoon at the home
of Mrs. Thomas Nixon. The home
was beautifully decorated, featuring
unusual flower arrangements. Tea
was poured by Mrs. Clyde McCallum
and served by Mrs. W. H. Hudson,
Mrs. C. A. Davenport, Mrs. Thomas
Nixon and Miss Mae Wood Winslow.

Home Demonstration Agent V
At the regular 5 meeting of the
County Council on Saturday after
noon, May 20th was decided as the
date for the Spring Federation and
Flower Show. The Federation meet
ing will be held in the auditorium of
the Hertford Grammar School, and
the Flower Show will be held in' the
Hertford Community House instead
of the Courthouse.
Mr. Wade Marr, of Elizabeth City,
will be the speaker for the Spring
Federation. Those whd heard him
at the district meeting will be anx
ious to hear him again.
The Council decided to visit the
Norfolk gardens in June. This tour
is open to all club members. Defin
ite plans will be announced later.
Members of the Council heard, a
very interesting talk on the "Cus
toms of the Chinese People" by Mrs.
Philip White, returned missionary to
China.
