o'clock Saturday afternoon, June 21,
at the Winfall Methodist Church with
the Rev. J. D. Cranford officiating.
Mrs. Baker is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. W. M. Mathews, of Hert
ford, Route Three. Mr. Baker is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Baker.
The couple was attended by Miss
Ida Perry Mathews, sister of the
bride, and Laurence Towe.
The bride wore a costume of beige
with blue accessories and her flowers
were a corsage of white bridal roses.
After a motor trip through West
ern North Carolina, the young couple
will make their home in Hertford.

The Executive Committee of the
Woman's Missionary Society of the
Hertford Baptist Church met Tues
day evening at the home of Mrs.
Carroll Holmes with Mrs. I. A. Ward,
the president, presiding. The discus
sion of the evening was "Standard of
Excellence." Eleven members were
present and to these the hostess
served delightful refreshments at' the
conclusion of the business session.
