TWO MEETS Circle No. Two of the Woman's Missionary Society of the Baptist Church held its monthly meeting with Mrs. V. A. Holdren. Mrs. Charles Johnson presided and Mrs. W. E. Hoffler had charge of an interesting program with several of the members taking part. Mrs. T. E. Raper gave the devotional. After the business session ,the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Tommy Miller and Mrs. Ben Wood, served a dainty sweet course. Members present included Mes dames Charles Johnson, Tommy Mill er, W. E. Hoffler, Ben Wood, Wil liam Landing, W. F. Crotts, Hattie Spivey, John Broughton, T. E. Rapcr, J. W. Hampton and V. A. Holdren. The May meeting will be held with Mrs. Ben Wood. ENTERTAINS ROOK CLUB Miss Mary Sumner was hostess to her Rook Club on Friday evening at her home. Those playing were Mes dames G. R. Tucker, Carlton Cannon, A. T. Lane, Cecil Winslow, Julian White, D. F. Reed, J. H. Towe, Edgar Morris, T. J. Nixon, Jr., R. S. Monds Jr., Charles Whedbee, H. C. Stokes, Nathan Relfe and W. G. Wright, and Miss Mildred Reed. High and bingo prizes went to Mrs. Relfe and Mrs. Monds received the low score award. The hostess served a dainty sand wich course. ENTERTAINS BRIDGE CLUB Mrs. Charles E. THREE MEETS Circle No. Three of the Woman's Missionary Society of the Hertford Baptist Church met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. V. N. Darden. Mrs. G. R, Tucker was in charge of the business session. Mrs. Carroll Holmes had charge of an interesting program, being assisted by Mrs. J. W. Zachary, Miss Frances Maness and Mrs. Tucker. Eleven members were present and after the business session and program they were serv-' ed a dainty sweet course by the hostess. The May meeting will be held with Miss Maness. HOSTESS TO ROOK CLUB Mrs. Houston Edwards was hostess to her rook club Thursday evening at her home on Church Street. Those playing were Mesdames Bill White, L. S. White, Jim Bass, Edgar Fields, Jimmy Stallings, Tom Cox, Martin Towe. High score prize went to Mrs. Cox and second high to Mrs. Bass. A swett course was served by the hostess. CIRCLE NO. FOl'K MEETS Circle No. Four of the Woman's Missionary Society of the Hertford Baptist Church met Monday evening with Mrs. Z. A. Harris. The meeting was opened with the hymn of the year, "Hail the Power of Jesus Name," and Mrs. Tom Perry offered prayer. Ten members answered at roll call. Mrs. E. W. Mayes gave the Scrip ture lesson and Mrs. Mark Gregory was in charge of the program. She was assisted by Mrs. Moore. At the conclusion of the program, the hostess served dainty lefresh ments. HOSTESS TO BRIDGE CLUB Mrs. Carroll Holmes entertained her bridge club Thursday evening at her home. Those playing were Mes dames V. N. Darden, C. M. Williford, H. C. Stokes, G. W. Barbee, T. L. Jessup, Misses Helen Morgan, Mary Sumner and Esther Evans. High score prize went to Miss Sumner, low to Mrs. Darden and Miss Morgan re ceived the hingo prize.
