FOUR MEETS Circle No. Four of the Woman's Missionary Society of the Hertford Baptist Church met on Monday even ing at the home of Mrs. Lena Gre gory, with Mrs. E. W. Mayes pre siding. The meeting opened with the hymn, "Jesus Saves." The roll was called and fifteen members were present. Mrs. Mark Gregory gave the chap tert "Sewardship in Serving," which was most interesting. The Scripture lesson was then given by Mrs. Lena Gregory. The meeting was closed with the theme song "Evening Prayer." HONOREE AT BRIDGE PARTY Mrs. E. L. Laughinghouse enter tained at a bridge party at her home on Tuesday evening, complimenting Miss Ruth Alice Ward, bride-elect. Those playing were: Miss Ward, honoree; Mesdames R. M. Riddick, A. H. D., training as a radio-operator mechanic. CHAPPELL GOODWIN Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Goodwin, of Hertford, Route 1, announce the marriage of their daughter, Marie, to Robert Chappell, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Chappell, of near Woodville. The wedding took place on May 14th, at South Mills, the ring ceremony being used. The bride wore a dress of powder blue with white accessories, and her corsage was of pink rosebuds and baby's breath. Immediately following the cere mony Mr. and Mrs. Chappell left for a short wedding trip. For traveling the bride wore a blue suit. Mrs. Chappell attended Perquimans High School. Mr. Chappell attended Central High. ( Mr. and Mrs. Chappell are making their home with his parents at Woodville.
