We are in a pulpwood growing section and there is now a pulp wood shortage. The country needs vast quantities of pulpwood for explosives, rayon parachutes, gas mask Filters, shipping containers and a thousand other uses yet some of the mills that make these things are actually shutting down for lack of wood. This is a desperate situation a war emergency. Something must be done QUICKLY! And only we who live in the pulpwood cutting areas can do anything about it. This is OUR responsibility. How the problem can be solves Mr. Donald M. Nelson, Chairman of the War Production Board, gave the key to the solution in the following statement: "If every one of the more than 3,800,000 farmers in the 27 pulpwood producing states were to devote 3 EXTRA days in 1 943 to cutting pulpwood, we could overcome the threatened 2,500,000 cord shortage with wood to spare." Will you enlist for 3 extra days? If you are now cutting pulpwood part time; if you have cut it in the part; or if you have never cut it but know how to use an axe and taw, will you pledge 3 ncraA days (at regular pay) to meet Mr. Nelson't challenge?
