Horfleet-Vood Vows Spoken At Baptist Church February 11 The wedding of Miss Bennie Wood and Howard Norfleet, Jr., of Holland, Va4 was solemnized February 11, at the Hertford Baptist Church. The Rev. Howard G. Dawkins pastor of the bride, officiated with the double ring ceremony. Pine, cathedral candles and white gladioli and ferns were beautifully arranged about the altar of the church. Prior to the ceremony, a program of wedding music was rendered by Mr8. Charles E. Johnson, organist, and Miss Carolyn Phillips sang "Because." The bride wore a two-piece suit of lilac with white accessories and her flowers were a corsage of orchids. Miss Huldah Wood, of Tarboro, sister of the bride, lighted the can dles. She wore a lovely pale green dress with white accessories and her flowers were a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Charles Johnson, Sr., was mistress of ceremonies. The bride's mother wore a black dress and a corsage of red roses. The bride, a daughter of Mrs. B. T. Wood, is a graduate of Perquimans High School and the Norfolk Business College. She is now employed at the Norfolk Navy Yard. Mr. Norfleet is a member of the U. S. Coast Guard and is now sta tioned in Tennessee. On Tuesday evening, February 10, Mrs. A. E. Jordan and her son, Ray, g'ave a reception at their home in honor of Miss Wood. The house was lovely with cut flowers and potted plants. Punch and sandwiches, after dinner mints and salted nuts were served. Miss Wood sliced and served her wedding cake.
