C Recorder's Court In Recess Again Tuesday The Perquimans County Recorder's Court was in recess again this week, due to the absence of Judge Charles E. Johnson. Mr. Johnson was called out of town 'on business Tuesday. Some eight cases are on the dock et for hearing and these will be tried by the court on Tuesday, March 28. The bride, a popular member of the Hertford younger set, is a graduate of the Perquimans High School and Maryland University School of Nursing. The young couple will make their home at Key West, Florida. The bride traveled in a dress maker suit of gold wool, matching calot trimmed with brown coque feathers, brown accessories and an orchid corsage from her bridal bouquet. Following the ceremony, a recep tion was given at the home of the bride's parents for members of the bridal party and out-of-town guests. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mcs. Frank Barrow, Lieut, and Mrs. Carl Soderholm, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Off'Sullivan and Miss Virginia De Sheilds, all of Norfolk, Va.; W. L. McClemrock of Durham, and Lieut, and Mrs. Leslie Pew, of Norfolk, Va, W. S. C. S. MEETS WITH MRS. ASH BY JORDAN The Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Woodland Methodist Church met with Mrs. Ashby Jordan on Wednesday afternoon, March 15. The president, Mrs. Earl Hollo well, presided. "Wonderful Words of Life" was used as the opening hymn. The roll was called and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. During the business session $3.25 was raised for Christian Social Re lations to be given a Negro girl who is sick. Mrs. Ashby Jordan read from Psalm 137-1:4, after which "Holy, Holy, Holy" was sung. The lesson topic for the month was "New Voices." "The Domestic Worker" was given by Mrs. Jack Benton, and "The Women in the Church" by Mrs. Ralph Harrell. "In the Garden" was sung. Mrs. Ernest Cartwright gave the Spiritual Life program, with Mrs. Henry Cartwright and Mrs. Elmer Wood assisting. "He Leadeth Me" was then sung. Mrs. Earl Hollowell very interest ingly gave three chapters from the Study Book, "God and the Problem of Suffering." The last three chap ters will he given by Mrs. Jack Ben ton and Mrs. Hollowell at the next meeting. Mrs. Lowery Cartwright and Mrs. W. M. Mathews were welcomed as new members.
