C, FRIDAY MARCH. 81, 1044 PERQUIMANS 4-H COUNTY COUNCIL HOLD MEETING Members of the Perquimans Coun ty Council 4-H Clube met in the Agricultural Building on March 18. ' The meeting was called to order and the 4-H Club Pledge was given in unison. In the absence of the president, the vice-president presided over the meetting. "America, the Beautiful'' was sung led by L. W, Anderson, County Agent, and the club song-leader, Frances Godfrey. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Scroop W. Enloe, Jr., representa tive of the Allied Chemical and Dye Corp., showed a movie, "Plant Food from Coal," which showed the pro duction of plant food, or fertilizer, from common coal. After the pledge to the American Flag, F. D. Allen, Assistant County Agent, conducted the recreation. Refreshments of ice cream and cookies were served to the 62 mem bers present. CHOWAN BAPTIST ASSOCIATION TO HOLD ALL-DAY MEETING The Woman's Missionary Union of the Chowan Baptist Association will meet at the Hertford Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 4, at 10:30 a. m. The principal speaker for the morning session will be Miss Pearl Johnson, a missionary home from China on furlough, and Mrs. J. S. Farmer, of Raleigh, State president of the Union. The afternoon session will be fea tured by a pageant given by the young people of the Hertford Bap tist Church.
