Winslow entertained her bridge club on Wednesday evening at her home on Church Street. Those enjoying the evening were Mesdames C. A. Davenport, W. H. Hardcastle, S. P. Jessup, Trim Wilson, H. A. Whitley, Walter Oakey, Jr., and J. H. Newbold, and Miss Mae Wood Winslow. High score prize went to Mrs. Whitley. A salad course was served by the hostess. The Epworth Group of Christian Service held its regular monthly meeting at the home of Miss Peggy Felton on Mondav evening. Anril 24, at; 8 o'clock. The president call ed the meeting to order, at which time old and new business was dis cussed. The roll was called and the minutes were read by the secretary. The treasurer gave a financial re port. In the absence of the program leader, the devotional was led by the secretary, Mrs. Minnie W. Hurdle. Mrs. H. C. Stokes talked about World Missions and Their Importance To day. Plans were made to have the next meeting on May 16, and Mrs. J. O. Felton invited the group to meet at her home and to bring a friend with them. Every member was urg ed to be present. During the social hour the group was delightfully entertained by th hostess who served refreshing coca colas and cookies. Those present in cluded Mrs. H. C. Stokes, Mrs. Minnie W. Hurdle, Misses Peggy Felton, Anne Mathews, Mary Ruth Wood, Iva Mae Hughes and Mildred Gault, and Mrs. Joanne Lewis. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved and the roll was called, with a hundred nercent present The club donated $5.70 to the Can cer Control movement.. Plans were made for attending the district meet ing. Mrs. J. B. Perry reported on the Jane S. McKimmon Fund. Mrs. Josiah Proctor, clothing lead er, gave the following program: Textile Products, Mrs. Josiah Proc tor; .Necklines, Mrs. Tommy Math ews; Possibilities in Last Year's Clothing, Mrs. R. G.
