Kraft, Baptist layman of Chicago, will be the Baptist Hour speaker for next Sunday morning, February 11th, as announced by the Radio Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention, S. F. Lowe, Di rector, Atlanta, Georgia. For a dozen years, Mr. Kra"t has been a well known and popular speaker for layman's meetings throughout the South, according to Mr. Lowe, having appeared also on the program of the Southern Baptist Convention. The Baptist Brotherhood of the South, according to Lawson H. Cooke, Secretary of Memphis, Ten nessee, is leading a movement to have one million men at their radios to hear Mr. Kraft; and, Mr. Lowe of the Radio Committee, says that indica tions are the Brotherhood will be successful in this movement. Fn mail received, as announced by the Radio Committee, indicates that the Baptist Hour audience is the largest this year in the history of the Baptist Hour. The program can be heard in this State over radio stations: WBIG, Greensboro; WPTF, Raleigh; WSJS, Winston-Salem, and WWNC, Ashe ville, at 8:30 a. m., EWT. CIRCLE NO. FOUR TO MEET Circle Number Four of the Hert ford Baptist Church will meet Mon day evening, February 5th, at 7:31 o'clock, at the home of Mrs. Tom Mardre. All members are urged to be present. NEW HOPE PTA MEETS The Parent-Teacher Association of New Hope school met Friday night, January 19, at the Community House. "THrs. S. T. Perry had charge of the devotional. Those taking part n the program were Mrs. I. C. Butt, Mrs. W. E. Dail, Miss Mary Lou Butt and Mrs. Robert Sutton. The second grade had the most parents representing their grade. HOSTESS TO BRIDGE CLUB Mrs. Charles E. Johnson entertain ed members of her bridge club last Tuesday evening at her home on Front Street. Those enjoying the evening were Mesdames C. M. Willi ford, H. C. Stokes, T. L. Jessup, C. R. Holmes, Jack Brinn and Max R. Campbell, and Miss Helen Morgan. High score prize went to Mrs. Campbell, second high to Mrs. Holmes and Mrs. Brinn received the low score award. The hostess served a sweet course. BRIGHT JEWELS MEET The Bright Jewels of the Metho dist Church met with Susan and Joe Towe on Friday afternoon. Ben Thatch and Garland Newbern pre sented the program. Reports were made and the offering was taken, which was used to buy fruit for the sick. Susan Towe and Ann Morrill were appointed to take care of the Social Service for the month. Those present were Mrs. Cecil Winslow, leader; Mrs. Joe Towe, Ann Morrill, Susan Towe, Marjorie Winslow, Mary Winslow, Billy Skin ner, Shirley Skinner, Juanita Daven port, Garland Newbern, Ben Thatch, Jimmy Thatch, Joe Towe, Clifford Towe. Refreshments were served after the meeting. The Bright Jewels meet on the fourth Friday of each month, HONOREE AT BIRTHDAY PARTY Mrs. Norman Elliott entertained at a birthday party Monday afternoon, honoring her daughter, Evelyn Anne, on her eighth birthday. During the afternoon the guests aijoyed various games. The honoree received many lovely and useful gifts. The hostess served ice cream, birthday cake and candy.
