Attend Junior Miss Miss Betty Jean Winslow, Miss Molly Oakie and M'ss Katherine Ann Holmes attended the Junior Miss Show in Elizabeth City Monday evening. Visiting Parents Pvt. Garland Stallings of Fort Bragg is spending his furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Stallings, near Hertford. Thursday In Richmond Mr. and Mrs. Louis Anderson spent Thursday of last week on business in Richmond. Wednesday In Hertford Mrs. George Alexander and Mrs. Shackleford, of Nixonton, spent Wednesday in Hertford visiting friends. Returned From Hospital E. A. Byrum returned Sunday from Du Paul Hospital in Norfolk, after being there for observation and treatment. Week-end Here Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Holt and son of Norfolk spent the week-nd with Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Mayes. Visiting Here Mrs. Margaret Jennette, of Eliza beth City, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Darden spent Monday in Norfolk, Va. Returns To Richmond Mrs. W. H. Huxter has returned to her home in Richmond, Va., after j visiung ner sisiers, Mrs. l;. w. White and Mrs. L. N. Hollowell. Hertford Guests Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Roberson, Jr., of Windsor visited friends in Hertford Sunday. Accepts Position Miss Wally C. Mayes accepted a position at the Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, and started her new du ties this week. Week-end Here Miss Katherine White of ECTC, Greenville, and Miss Frances White spent the week-end with their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. White. Attend Wedding Miss Helene Nixon left last week to attend the wedding of her brother, Francis B. Nixon and Miss Made leine Peirce, which took place on February 1st, in Maiden, Mass. Miss Nixon is spending this week in New York, before returning home. Sunday Visitors Lieut Commander and Mrs. W. H. Jenkins, Dot and Robert Jenkins, and Miss Nancy Darden, of Norfolk, Va., spent Sunday as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Darden. Visiting Parents Mrs. H. R. Christensen, who is em ployed at the Maryland University Hospital, Baltimore, Md., arrived home Wednesday to spend a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. N. Darden. Return Home , Mrs. J. C. Blanchard, who has been in Cleveland, Ohio, for several weeks, and J. C. Blanchard, who has been visiting relatives in Durham, have returned to their home here. Sunday Here Miss Carrie Spears of Waynesboro, Va., and Johnnie White from Alex andria, Va., spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, C. 0. White. Visiting Here C. P. Officer and Mrs. C. W. Miller of Key West, Fla., arrived home Tuesday to spend a week with Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Vick, after which they will leave for San Francisco, Cal., for further orders. High score prize went to Mrs. Holliday, low to Mrs. Reed and bingo prizes were awarded Mrs. Lane, Miss Reed and Miss White. A sweet course was served. i CIRCLE NO. 4 MET Circle No. 4 of the Hertford Bap tist Church met Monday evening with Mrs. Tom Mardre. Mrs. E. W. Mayes, the leader, took charge' of the business meeting. Mrs. L. B. Sitterson was in. charge of the program. Mrs. Johnson Alex ander gave a very interesting talk and the meeting closed with the de votional by Mrs. Mardre, after which refreshments were served.
