T. Wood as hostess. Mrs. Pen nington presided. A very interesting program prepared by Mrs. W. E. Hoffler was given with several mem bers taking part. Mrs. Tommy Milier gave the devo tional and the meeting was closed by all repeating the Lord's Prayer. After the business session a social hour was enjoyed. The hostess, as sisted by Mrs. Harvey Norfleet, serv ed a dainty sweet course. Members present included Mes- Mr C. R. Holmes was hostess to ! damS v A Holdren, Tommy Miller Return Home Mrs. T. S. Johnson, Jack Brinn, Miss Mary Sumner and Miss Helen Morgan. High score and bingo prize went to Mrs. Johnson and low was awarded Mrs. Jessup. A sweet course was served by the hostess. ENTERTAINS BRIDGE CLUB Mrs. Vivian Mathews was hostess to members of her bridge club on Wednesday evening at her home. Those playing were Mesdames R. E. Vickers, Herman Winslow, W. E. Drake, Al Kenton, Jimmy Johnson, Dave Fuller and Kelly White, Miss es Alma Leggett, Nettie Day, Helen Willoughby, Tuck Chapman and Joyce Harrell. High score prize was won by Miss Day. Mrs. Drake received the low score award, Miss Harrell, the second high score prize and Mrs. Vickers and Mrs. Kenton, bingo prizes. A sweet course was served. B. W. Pennington, S. C. Godwin, W. E. M. Field is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Philip Carter, in Portsmouth, Va., this week. The bride is a graduate of Per quimans High School and for the past few years has been associated with her brother in a general insurance business. Lieut. Pitts graduated from Jones boro High School and attended Ar kansas State College, before entering the Navy. Out-of-town guests included Mrs. Harry Wilkins, Milford, Del.; Mrs. W. F.
