Production Board will house holders, farmers, scnooi cjuiaren, merchants, business t firms and the average citizen alike, according to Dean Schaub. He makes an urgent plea to farmers, producers, suppliers, woodsmen and citizens in nones sential occupations to lend their as sistance in the present crisis by pro ducing more pulpwood and lumber now; first for critical war require ments and secondly to assure them selves of-adequate supplies for home front needs. "Reduction in allotments of pulp- wood products, particularly paper, by the War Production Board, are the direct result of enormously in creased demands of the military for the all-out fight against Japan and the steadily lessening volume of pulpwood available to mills," he ex plains. "These reductions win oe felt in every department of domestic life during the third quarter of the year, beginning June 1 and contin uing through September. Even more drastic cuts are certain unless pulp wood shortages can be overcome by vastly increased production." Less Paper And Wood Products Scheduled firmvinir milDwnod and lumber shortages will be felt by everyone in North Corolina during the summer and autumn as more drastic reduc tions in civilian supplies of familiar paper and wood products are enfor ced by the government to meet in creased demands of the armed forces, I. 0. Schaub, State College Extension Director and Chairman of Gov. Greee Cherry's emergency com mittee on Forest Products Produc Small Moth Causes Damage To Clothing The small moth that avoids the flame and then hastily disappears in the darkness is generally the one that lavs the eras and causes the greatest damage, say Extension clothing specialists at State College. There are many moths that flutter around the lights in the house but these should not be given the same attention as the tiny moths that try to avoid the light. Millions of dollars worth of cloth es and fabrics are ruined by moths every year and under the present wartime conditions this should be the recommendations of the entom oloidsta in furhtin the moth. Before putting clothing kway for the summer they snouia oe tnorougn ly sunned, and the se4ni and pock ets should be caret uuy orusnea. Store the clothing in a tight con tainer and put one pound pf naptha- lene flakes pr PDB crystals to every one hundred cubic reel oi space. If the floor and cracks in closets are kept free of lint and dust, moths will not breed so easily. A good fly spray can be used to kill any moth worms in cracks and corners. Vacuum cleaning is especially helpful in protecting rugs, chairs and the like. LESS N. C. WATERMELONS " ; ; LONG-LEARY Mr. and Mrs. H. W.
