It was decided that the Board would rotate its meeting, the next local meeting to be held in Chowan County. The Albemarle Soil Conservation District through its memorandum of understanding with the U. S. Soil Conservation Service will obtain per sonnel for the newly added counties in the near future. W. M. S. TO MEET The Woman's Missionary Society of the Baptist Church will meet Mon day night, September 17, at 8 o'clock at the church. Mrs. I. A. Ward will preside. All members are urged to be present. CIRCLE MEETING Circle No. 6 of the Woman's Mis sionary Society of the Hertford Bap tist Church met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Jim Bass. The meeting was opened by singing "Lead On. O Kinar Eternal." The program chairman, Mrs. Willie Ainsley, gave a very interesting prom-am on "War." assisted by Mrs. Clinton Eley, Mrs. Uozier button ana Mrs. Howard Dawkins. The meeting was closed by a sentence prayer. The hostess served dainty refreshments to the 11 members and two visitors present. The October meeting will be held with Mrs. Howard Dawkins. SSgt. Hemby Chappell of Hamil ton Field, Cal., is spending a furlough with his father, E. L. Chappell. Mrs. Estes Copeland and son Rae ford spent the week-end with her husband at Parris Island, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kendall of Washington, D. C, are guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Smith this week. L. J.
