NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS IN THE TOWN OF HERTFORD Edenton High Meets Hertford On Friday (Continued from Page One) were scheduled due to the vast differ ence in strength of the two squads. An interesting sidelight of the series is the fact that in the first eight games played, Edenton was able to win only one game, and in the next eight games Hertford won only one game. In the last six games Edenton has won only one game, so that Coach Lindsay's boys are hope ful that this year they can break the jinx of cycles of eight. Scores of the games played be tween the two teams to date follow: Year 1926 . 1926 . 1927 . 1927 . 1928 . 1929 . 1930 . 1931 . 1931 . 1932 . 1932 . 1933 . 1933 1934 . 1940 . 1941 . 1942 . 1943 . 1943 1944 . FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 1945 Pulpwood Producers Praised; Continued Help Called Vital The nation's achievements in war production announced recently by WI'B Chairman J. A. Krug serve to emphasize "the unselfish patriotism of our farmers and woods workers in meeting America's pulpwood require ments during the war," the Perquim ans Victory Pulpwood Committee said this week, stressing that now, in the words of Mr. Krug, "industrial mobil ization must be kept alive and cur rent." Among the total munitions and war equipment production figures released by Mr. Krug were these: More than 26,000,000 pairs of combat boots, 55, 273,000 trousers, 15,273,000 overcoats, 517,000,000 pairs of socks, 43,270,000 wool blankets, 1,412,506,000 sulfadia zine tablets, 11,835,000 ampules of penicillin and 17,400,000 rifles. In commenting on these figures, the committee declared: "It is important to remember that every pair of boots, every rifle, every package of sulfa diazine, as well as other items listed and the hundreds of thousands of items not listed, all required paper, paperboard or other pulpwood pro ducts to wrap, package or tag these items. "Moreover," the committee pointed, out, "vast quantities of additional I pulpwood ' actually went into the J manufacture of hundreds of other, wartime items. The Perquimans Victory Pulpwood Committee gave as the first example of such continuing cooperation in IN MEMORIAM In loving remembrance of dear mother, Mrs. Lydia Harrell, who de parted this life October 6, 1933.
