Britt returned home Satur day after undergoing observation at a hospital in Charlotte. From Weldon Alvin White of Weldon spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. White. Here Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Pat Kelly were visi- tors in Hertford Wednesday. home on Church Street. Those olav ing were Mesdames Jack Kanoy, C. R. Holmes, T. L. Jessup, G. W. Bar bee, Charles E. The Christmas tree and red lighted cand les, together with other Yulctide dec orations, put the Christmas spirit in to the hearts of each member and guest as she entered the living room and handed her Rift to the hostess who, with the help of her small son, arranged them attractively under the tree. Mrs. Lawrence Towe, president, presided over the business meeting. Miss Ruth Elliott, secretary, called the roll and read the minutes. Mrs. Riley Monds had charge of the de votion and an interesting Christmas program. Mrs. C. 0. Fowler was the guest speaker. Mrs. Jessie Lee Harris, chairman of the Nominating Committee, read a list of prospect ive officers to serve for the coming year. They were unanimously ap proved. After the benediction, Mfs. Sul livan played Santa Claus and pre sented each visitor with a gift. Dur ing the social hour, she served de licious refreshments, using red and white for the color scheme, to the following: Mrs. C.
