Miriam Jones, who became the bride
of Ray Haskett Saturday morning.
Games and contests were enjoyed by
the many guests, after which the
honoree opened her many lovely gifts
and refreshments were served.

Mrs. C. E. Cannon was hostess to
her rook, club Thursday evening at
her home. Those playing were Mes
dames Crafton Matthews, J. T. Towe,
W. J. lCanoy, Henry Stokes, B. G.
Koonce, W. G. Wright, J.' E. Morris,
Julian White, G. R." Tucker, D. F.
Reed, Miss Mary Sumner and Miss
Mildred Reed. The high score prize
went to Mrs. Wright, low to Mrs.
Towe, floating prize . was awarded
Mrs. Morris and the bingo prizes went
to Mrs. 'Stokes, Mrs. Tucker and Mrs.
Reed. A salad course was served.
HONORED AT LINEN SHOWER
Miss Miriam Jones was honored at
a bridge party and linen shower Tues
day evening of last week, given by
Mrs. Clyde Small of Weeksville.
Bridge was enjoyed by the 20 guests
present, after which the honoree
opened her many lovely gifts and re
freshments were served by the hostess.

Mrs. Edgar Fields was hostess to
her rook club Thursday evening at
her home. Those playing were Mes
dames Thomas Tilley, Martin Towe,
h, S.. White, Clinton Eley, Jimmy
StalHngs, Jim Bass, Cliff Haskett,
Tom Cox, Edward Barber, J. T. Lane,
Willie Ainsley and the hostess played.
Mrs. Towe received high score prize,
Mrs. Stallings received low and Mrs.
Cox was awarded the floating prize.
Second Tiigh score prize went to Mrs.
White. A salad course was served.
BRIDGE CLUB MEETS
The Tuesday Night Bridge Club
met this week with Miss Helen Mor
gan at her home on Church Street.
Those playing were Mesdames H. C.
Stokes, T. L. Jessup, C. S. Holmes,
W. J. Kanoy, C. M. Williford, M. R.
Campbell and Miss Mary Sumner.
The high score prize went to Mrs.
Williford and second high was award

served.

CELEBRATES 16th BIRTHDAY
Thomas Per. y, Jr., gave a surprise
party Thursday night in honor of
Miss Ruth Haskett on her 16th birth
day. The party was given at the
Landing recreation room. Dancing
was enjoyed and games were played.
Miss Haskett received some very love
ly gifts. A three-tiered birthday
cake, punch, ice cream and mints
were served to the 60 guests present.
