Miss Helen Mae White, bride-elect,
was honored at a linen shower last
Thursday evening, January 15, given
by Miss Ruth Tucker and Miss Eva
Harris at the home of Miss Tucker.
The homo was decorated with gla
dioli, ivy,; fern and Hunted candles.
The honoree was presented a cor
sage of red, carnations. Wishes for
the bride were written by the guests
ana compiled into a bride's book.
The game of cubical hearts was
played, with Miss Frances Celey win
ning the Ugh score, after which the
honoree opened and acknowledged her

The Woman's Missionary Society of
the Baptist Church met Monday
night January 19, at the church with
Mrs. I. A. Ward presiding.
The meeting opened with a hymn,
"Faith of Our Fathers," prayer by
Mrs. Ward. After the roll call of
circles, Mrs. Jim Bass read the min
utes of the last meeting. Business
was then discussed. Mrs. Carroll
Holmes gave the devotional. The
hymn for the year, "Jesus Shall
Reign" was sung. I
Those taking part on the program
were Mrs. Mark Gregory, Mrs. Vivian
Darden, Mrs. Henry Lewis, Mrs.
Charlie Elliott, Mrs. Josiah Elliott
and Mrs. J. T. Lane. Mrs. L. W. Nor
man closed the meeting with a prayer.
