Sutton Miss Pat Moore remained this week with her grandmother. , v - r w R:!jS.Pcri7ta,; In a candlelight ceremony on Sat urday evening, July 17. at seven o'clock, in the New Hope Methodist Church, Miss Marjorle Lou Perry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.; Stephen Toneil Perry, became the bride of George Ervin Fields, son - of Mrs. George E. Fields and the late Mr. Fields. The Rev. E: B. Edwards, pastor of the bride, officiated i using the double ring ceremony. ' . The church was beautifully dec orated, with palms, ferns, smilax and huckleberry,' seven branch candelabra with lighted cathedral candles, with baskets of white gladioli and asters. Prior to the ceremony, Mrs. R. M. Riddick, pianist, presented a program of wedding music. Miss Peggy Fel ton, soloist, sang Because, Through the Years and as a benediction to the ceremony The Lord's Prayer. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her father, wore a wedding gown or white imported organdy fashioned with a sheer yoke and an eyelet embroidery bertha. The Ibng sleeves ended over the hands in cir- culets of eyelet embroidery, skirt was caught up at the hem line and fell beneath an eyelet embroidery peplum into a wide train. Her finger tip veil of illusion fell from' a tiara of seed pearls. Her only ornament was a gold locket, a family heirloom. She carried an arm bouquet of white roses, showered with stephanotis and centered with a purple-throated orchid. Miss Janice Perry, sister of the bride,, was maid of honor. Her gown of white organdy was fashioned with a yoke of eyelet embroidery, a fitted bodice and cap sleeves. She carried a nosegay of blue daisies and wore a matching halo in her hair. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Edward Barber of Hertford, Miss Alberta Parkhurst of Robersonville, Miss Jean Powell of Goldsboro and Mrs. Clyde Small, Jr., of Weeksville. Their gowns were of white organdy , identical-to that of the maid of honor. They carried nosegays of yellow daisies with matching halos of the' same flowers in their hair. Honorary bridesmaids were Misses Louise Berry, Marvis Hobbs, Dotme gan Lane, Harriet Lou Layden, Eliza beth' Manning, Annie Frances Rid dick and Mrs. Ray Haskett. They wore gowns in pastel shades. Emory White of Hertford was best man. Groomsmen were Jarvis Ward, Matt Spivey, Jr., Edgar Fields, brother of the bridegroom, and Ger ald Perry, brother of the bride. The bride's mother wore a sheer black dress with black and pink ac cessories. Her. flowers were pink roses. The bridegroom's , mother wore a , dress of green crepe with black ac cessories and a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Fields graduated from Per quimans County High School and at tended East Carolina Teachers Col lege. Mr. Fields graduated from Per quimans County High School and served for three years with the Unit-, ed States Army Air Forces in the 1 Pacific theatre. At present he is em ployed by the Retail Credit Company. Immediately following the wedding ceremony the parents of the bride en tertained at a reception at their home. The lower floor of the home was at tractively decorated with summer flowers and lighted tapers. The din ing table was decorated with a love ly lace cldth, a three-tiered wedding cake centered the table and was top ped witn a miniature bride and groom. C. Immediately following the rehears-' al of the Perry-Fields wedding on Fri day night, July ; 16, Mrs. Julian A. White of Hertford and Mrs. E. M. Perry of New Hope entertained at a cake cutting . at the home of Mrs. Perry. , Upon arrivinar' at' the home the guests were served with soft drinks, after which they were invited into the dining room. The table was covered with a gorgeous imported lace cut- work cloth. A, three-tiered weddinsr cake topped with silver wedding bells with ribbons ' attached ; centered the table. After the bride and groom cut the cake everyone' was served with cake, mints and salted nuts by Mrs. Cecil Everett, Mrs W. E. Dail, Mrs. A. R.
