Ohio, conducted several saf ety demonstrations at, the Hertford Grammar, School .Thursday for Per quimans students.' Adams, who stressed the import ance of safety with an automobile, showed a movie. Driven to Kill, and urged the youthful drivers and pros pective drivers not to let their car be driven to kill. Ha lsn conducted a demonstration on Market street adjacent the school building on several ways to operate a car, including a braking, demonstra tion in which several students took part. He pointed out that 16, 17 and 18 year old drivers are involved 'In the majority ' of automobile accidents re sulting in death or life long injury and stated ' that a car if used im nronerlv can be the : most dangerous deadly weapon known in the daily walk of life. .-:;: . Adams told his vouthful listeners that they should do something about the, death and destruction being done in the jlation by erratic driving and this would never be accomplished un til m generation of teen-agers would give the proper amount of study and consideration to safe driving that is given to other arts and sciences today which is one of the greatest chal lenges to take place in our American youth. In defining an accident Adams con tended that "we fail to do something that we should have done or we do something that we should have not done" which directly results in what we term an accident. , , ( . "Just what can be done about the high rate of automobile accidents ? Let each of us .ask ourselves that Question." the safety director said. "First mark it a personal ' problem, not a lot of things for the other fel low to do. Learn and follow the rules of the game of driving, respect the rights of others and develop a proper, driving attitude.
